Discover potential - develop potential

I have just returned from a mother and son holiday in Japan - a country that has been on our bucket list for some time. Not only was this holiday full of adventures and valuable experiences, it also opened up a potential in me that had previously been hidden.

Management Summary

In order to maintain our strength and performance, we need creative islands in our everyday lives in which we - free from expectations, free from pressure to achieve results and free from time - surrender to the flow of ideas and possibilities and allow creativity to flow.

If we lack this space, we lack a central source of energy for us humans.

To open up this space again, we need various elements:

  • Creative islands
  • Empty
  • Freedom of expectation
  • Dedication to ourselves
  • The courage to break the rules

Inspired by my son, I didn't just use my camera and mobile phone to capture sights that were mostly populated by tourists anyway and are much more beautifully depicted on maps, in magazines or books.

I mainly used my camera and mobile phone to capture the moods and scenes of the streets and squares, train stations and airports, trains and buses, markets and cafés.

The result is a somewhat different kind of travel documentary.

Now you may be asking yourself: What is this article doing in a professional blog?

The answer to this has various aspects, which I would like to address below:

Creativity as a source of energy

In order to maintain our strength and performance, we need creative islands in our everyday lives in which we - free from expectations, free from pressure to achieve results and free from time - surrender to the flow of ideas and possibilities and allow creativity to flow.

If we lack this space, we lack a central source of energy for us humans.

Creativity is not firmly defined, but is entirely individual. What is important is that we are open to results, follow impulses from within and create a space free from the expectations of others and ourselves.

In most cases, this doesn't happen at the push of a button, but takes time and your own permission to get involved.

Allow empty

You are probably familiar with this: in a busy calendar, where one appointment follows the next, there is no room for creativity. Creativity arises from emptiness, from the freedom to let thoughts flow, to give space to impulses from within or without.

It is only from the void that our perception opens up and gives us the chance to open up a new space of experience.

surrender to ourselves

At the same time, emptiness also opens up the possibility of surrendering to ourselves. What do I mean by this? Surrendering to yourself goes hand in hand with the ability to perceive your own needs free of goals or expectations and to give in to them. to follow the natural flow. Remaining open to results. Perceiving the here and now.

Be a rule breaker

Devotion to ourselves can also mean stepping out of "business as usual", breaking with rules or conventions. Leaving behind things that no longer serve us. Consciously closing spaces of experience that no longer suit us and realigning our inner compass.

In order to tap into new potential, it is not unusual to swim against the tide (of others) in order to get into the flow of your own life.

Everything is allowed. Nothing must. In harmony with your own self.
